Tiziana Terenzi and the Memory of Fire

From a family candle workshop to a contemporary perfume Maison, Tiziana Terenzi carries generations of craftsmanship, imagination and memory within every creation.

Tiziana Terenzi and the Memory of Fire

The story of Tiziana Terenzi began in 1968, when Guglielmo Terenzi and his wife Luigia, known affectionately as Bigia, established Cereria Terenzi.

Their workshop specialised in candle making, surrounding the family with wax, natural essences and the warmth of an open flame. These early materials gradually formed a creative language that would pass from one generation to the next.

Guglielmo approached his craft with the sensibility of an artist. His interests extended through music, poetry and fragrance, and he experimented with natural essences gathered from the surrounding Italian landscape. The workshop became a place where technical knowledge and imagination developed together. Cereria Terenzi

From the family workshop

Guglielmo's son, Evelino, expanded the family operation and introduced new possibilities to its traditional methods. Under his direction, the workshop developed into the Candle Palace, while its original spirit remained central to the family's work.

Fire naturally became an enduring symbol of the house. It represented transformation, warmth and the power of scent to shape an atmosphere. Family evenings beside the fire, journeys beneath open skies and memories of distant places later inspired many of the stories found throughout the Maison's collections.

This history gives the imagery surrounding Tiziana Terenzi a genuine connection to its origins. The flames, constellations and journeys all emerge from experiences shared by the family over several generations.

A shared creative vision

Today, siblings Paolo and Tiziana Terenzi continue the family tradition through complementary creative roles.

Paolo is the Maison's perfumer. He translates places, emotions and personal memories into fragrance compositions. Tiziana shapes the artistic direction, developing the visual identity, design and storytelling that bring each creation into a complete world. Cereria Terenzi

Their collaboration allows every element to carry the same intention. The fragrance, bottle and narrative develop together, giving each collection a distinctive sense of character.

Many creations draw directly from the family's history. Bigia, for example, honours Luigia and her role in establishing Cereria Terenzi alongside Guglielmo. Other fragrances recall journeys, landscapes and evenings spent together under the stars. Tiziana Terenzi

These memories give the Maison a deeply personal foundation, even as its fragrances travel across international markets.

Heritage in motion

The evolution from candles to artistic perfumery feels like a continuation of the same craft. Both disciplines begin with materials and rely on patience, balance and an understanding of atmosphere.

Each generation has expanded the family's creative vocabulary. Wax gave way to increasingly complex aromatic compositions, while the intimacy of the original workshop grew into a globally recognised perfume house.

That heritage remains active within the Maison. It can be found in the warmth of its storytelling, the expressive character of its fragrances and the attention given to every physical detail.

Presenting such a house requires the same level of care. Retail teams need enough context to communicate the memories, inspirations and craftsmanship behind each fragrance. When the story is understood, customers encounter an entire creative world rather than a bottle in isolation.

More than five decades after the original workshop opened, the flame at the heart of the Terenzi family continues to inspire new forms. Its warmth now travels through fragrance, carrying the family's memories into homes and markets around the world.
